Richard O'Neill
Welcome to my profile page. My name is Richard O'Neill. Ever since I was a young boy, as far back as 6 years old I remember always wanting to create and mold, both with my hands and with pencil and paper. Alas, although I did write a lot as a shy, spotty teenager, I never imagined that it would be something I could make a living out of. As a result, writing didn't really become anything more than just a part-time hobby for me until I discovered blogging and article sites online, and that's when I really realised what that deep yearning inside me is. My purpose, I understand now, is to communicate with people through my words on a page, as when I'm writing, time just seems to stop and I become lost in a warm and gentle bubble that protects me from the outer world and all its distractions; much the same as when one reads an expertly written novel. I was born to be a writer, whether or not I make money from it is of no consequence to me, just so long as I can write.
I'm currently a TEFL Teacher working in the amazing Kingdom of Thailand and it has not only awoken the Teacher in me, but it has also made me realise that not only am I born to write, I am also born to teach others. I am a person who needs to give of myself and assist those who need a hand taking the next few steps into the unknown, into territory previously undiscovered, albeit territory that has much fruit to bear for those willing to take risks.
For the last year of my stay here in Thailand I have embarked upon a journey of discovery and self-improvement that has opened up many doors that were previously firmly locked and bolted, and along the way I have collected over 2000 books on Philosophy, New Thought, Religion, Self-Help and just about anything to do with the study of the mind and spirit. I have much knowledge that i can't wait to share with you all and although I feel I have many improvements to make in both my writing and my teaching, I am sure that i can achieve what i came here to do.
